Dubai Electricity And Water Authority – DEWA, UAE

To provide uninterrupted power supply to the Palace of Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum in a remote island located 600 Kms from Dubai. The power plant would provide electricity to power a reverse osmosis desalination plant, a palace, a private runway, a central kitchen, a workshop, and a small harbor.


The scope included:


Manufacture, testing, delivery, and commissioning of 4 x 1000 KVA (3.2 MW) diesel generator sets of continuous rating, 3Ph, 50Hz net electrical output at 50 C. Other associated components are acoustic enclosures, day fuel tanks with auto level sensors, 11 KV switchgear panels, relay and metering units, auxiliary transformers, neutral grounding resister panels, battery charger panels, fire alarm system with a mimic panel, auto load transfer, and synchronizing system. The project was a logistical challenge as the island was located away from the mainland of UAE. This project was done on a turnkey basics.
