Mothballing of newly constructed oil platforms (50 No.s) by implementing Cortec Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibition technology against nitrogen blanketing. Mothballing of Gas to Liquid (GTL) modules using VpCI-337. These modules were intended to be under storage for about a year before being commissioned.

Project Description:

From 2007 till date, there are about 50 newly constructed platforms and the pipes risers and spool being mothballed. We were able to implement Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibition technology against nitrogen blanketing. Using nitrogen, J Ray McDermott was not able to achieve the desired corrosion protection. The client was satisfied with the test results of our products.

Mothballing of Gas to Liquid (GTL) modules was about 27 GTL modules being fabricated in the UAE schedules to be transported to Nigeria. These modules will be under storage for about a year before being commissioned. KBR was concerned about corrosion protection of these modules. Kanoo proposed a solution for mothballing these units using VpCI-337. The client is satisfied and they are using this product for protecting vessels and pipelines.
