The G-V1 valve is the industry standard workhorse valve that has largely replaced sieve or bubble cap trays in most applications. The G-C1TM is a caged version that provides better reliability while the G-BD1T™ valve is the industry standard rectangular valves.
Counterflow trays without downcomers, the tower cross sectional area is completely made up of perforated plates. They are used in fouling applications and offer a limited operating range.
Conventional Cross flow trays with a simple perforated decks available with a variety of holes sizes and designs. They are limited in turndown and have been largely replaced by valve trays or fixed valve trays.
Bubble cap trays are used when high turndown is required or when very low leakage is allowed. A reliable but ultimately expensive design, bubble cap trays are still used in the industry today with specific applications.
